2. Agree on the Medium:

Whether you want a pencil or ink drawing, watercolor, or a large oil painting, together we will decide on the medium that will best capture the subject— be it the spark of life, the light, the beauty.

3. Acknowledge the Complexity:

Sometimes, the image is so wonderfully portrayed that it paints or draws itself. Other times, the artistic journey is more complex, and requires patience, skill, and a great amount of sensitivity to coax out all of what the subject is burying deep inside. More often than not, the end result is worth every moment spent achieving it.

4. Complete the Journey:

To me, the process from start to finish-- no matter how complex-- is a joy in itself. However, nothing compares to the thrill of seeing the finished creation.
